Dr. Chad Davis, O.D.

Dr. Davis, a native of Limestone County, Alabama, is deeply rooted in the community where he was a student in the Athens City School system. He pursued his undergraduate education on a golf scholarship at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

His educational journey continued to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, completing the Doctor of Optometry degree program. Dr. Davis is dedicated to providing patient care in Athens and is an active member of professional organizations such as the Alabama Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, the AOA Contact Lens and Cornea section, and the AOA Sports Vision Section.

Dr. Davis believes in the comprehensive care approach of optometry, emphasizing the profession's ability to serve patients of all ages and improve their quality of life by managing refractive needs and ocular disease. With a special interest in Specialty Contact Lenses, he finds great reward in enhancing a patient's vision, especially when they may have given up hope.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Davis, alongside his wife Brandy, is dedicated to raising their three children. Their commitment to family life reflects his patient-centered approach, where each individual is treated with the utmost consideration for their well-being.

Dr. Jacob Smith, a graduate of Auburn University and the Southern College of Optometry, chose eyecare driven by his appreciation for vision as a profound blessing. He is passionate about being part of a system that aids people in achieving their best possible vision. Dr. Smith takes joy in meeting the diverse individuals who visit their offices, contributing to their visual well-being.

His clinical care passions include Primary Care, Scleral Lenses, and Neurolenses. Dr. Smith is drawn to areas where tangible, immediate impacts can be made on people's vision and visual needs, resulting in near-immediate improvements in their lives.

In his personal life, Dr. Smith treasures time spent with his wife, Taylor, who is an integral part of his journey. Most of his family resides in North Alabama. He is happily married, with great parents, grandparents, and in-laws all living nearby. These relationships bring him immense happiness and fulfillment.

Dr. Smith and his wife prioritize their faith, engaging in Bible study and prayer as central components of their lives. Their commitment extends to serving the community, seeking opportunities to glorify God in all they do.

Dr. Claire Mowrer, O.D.

Dr. Claire Mowrer, originally from Tullahoma, TN, embarked on her academic journey at Harding University in Arkansas. There, she earned a bachelor's degree in biology and mathematics, and a master's in business administration. Before venturing into optometry, Dr. Mowrer shared her expertise by teaching anatomy and physiology at Harding University, demonstrating her passion for education.

In 2017, she achieved her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, garnering the prestigious Dean’s Award of Excellence in recognition of her outstanding accomplishments. Dr. Mowrer's extensive educational background, coupled with her teaching experience and dedication to excellence, forms the foundation for her comprehensive and compassionate approach to optometry care.

Dr. Mowrer's love for primary care optometry reflects her commitment to spending time with patients, getting to know them personally, and tailoring her services to best address their visual needs while managing ocular and systemic health. Her additional passion lies in fitting specialty contact lenses, recognizing the profound difference they can make for patients struggling with vision in glasses and standard contact lenses.

Committed to providing excellent and compassionate patient care, Dr. Mowrer, along with her husband, son, and two cats, leads an active lifestyle. They are integral members of their church and the local community band. Dr. Mowrer's involvement extends to community service as a dedicated member of the Athens Lions Club. This holistic engagement showcases her commitment not only to professional excellence but also to enriching the lives of her patients and community members alike.

The doctor is amazing

I would recommend pathway, I care to anybody! They are all very nice and whatever you needs may be. The doctor is amazing Dr. Kane, and everybody that she has up there that works up. There is just delightful and more than welcoming. We will definitely be going back to them and staying with them.

I saw Dr. Mowrer today and she was wonderful! She examined my eyes and took extra steps to ensure she was being thorough! She explained everything about my eyes with clarity and had a warm and welcoming demeanor! Love Pathway!
